DUCK-SOUP, DOG-SOUP...PA-TAY-TOE, POTATO

,
Woof, Kids!

Whatever you want to call it, during the dawg days of what some are calling a pre-depression, we need to scratch around for the less-than-serious type topics. Take a gander at my mug above, I'm laughing it up in a cool park here in West Palm. YES, canines laugh. You think not? Then you haven't seen Moolie in the morning. But, that's another blog.

Mutts and pups. Of COURSE, I fully realize how frivolous these gossipy blogs appear. Mine and the millions of others. Heck, appear? Please. They ARE, absolutely...beyond a shadow of a doubt...totally and completely VAPID and meaningless. But, are they? Really? Perhaps, vapid...but NOT necessarily meaningless.

History speaks (just like hounds when they want something) and it reveals that not ALL popular movies and topics rolled out during the Great Depression truly reflected the dire situation of the time. Hm, wonder why we never, EVER, listen to history? Again, another blog.

Granted, some flicks were serious as can be, it was a most serious time in the world...but, forget those for now and let us paws, er, pause and reflect on that movie of movies, the iconic...Duck Soup, and those zany guys, all named (and what monikers they were) Marx. Oh, for the record, their real names:

Chico-Leonard
Harpo-Adolph
Groucho-Julius
Gummo-Milton (yes, there was a Gummo)
Zeppo-Herbert
(Kids, I can understand why they got nicknames, huh?)

The way I read it, have heard it, and clearly understand it...people didn't have much to smile about during the early 30's and wanted to simply escape and forget all the worldly-woes, of which there were many. Enter, the brothers, Marx, who were just the ticket to the land of laughs. Mutts, can you imagine those sibs bringing all their zaniness to the BLOG world? Zowie!!!

So, before you dismiss the silliness of all things gossip blogs, inhale, relax and just GO with it. Consider taking a reprise from reading and listening to all that is DRAMZ, even for a short while and go on...read the crap...I'm talking 'bout fun and funny stuff. When things in the world get tough, all humankind and caninekind (yes, I made that up, if you don't mind), seek relief through comedy and light-heartedness. Okay, not ALL humankind...some seek the down-a-lator (the escalator to the bottom of nothingness), but many.

Listen, no one has to know if, and/or, when you allow yourself to step off into the world called...ESCAPISM, SMILES, LAUGHTER...a little something we're today calling, DOG SOUP...in honor of Harpo, Chico, Groucho, and that mysterious Zeppo (just not the most popular member of their "boy-band"). We proudly send out a high-paw to all things escapism, and we don't care if it comes in the form of music or films of yester-year, the music or films of today or silly-ass blogs, like CKCDiva. Kids, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss silly-ass...you'd be surprised how effective it can be to get ya through.

Bark at me!!

Hey Diva Reggie. It's your friendly, neighborhood Texas Boston, Bitsy. Ask your Moolie, didn't she have a chimp named Zeppo when she was a pup? No, wait a sec. Mommy just told me his name was Zippy. Oh, well, I just missed it by a few letters. I wonder what the Marx bros parents names were.Hmmmm??? Can you imagine mom calling them in for supper? Groucho, Harpy, Sneezy, Dopey, Doc, Hey you kid. What a riot that must have been.
Mommy says things are depressing and remembers stories about the depression era but she also says, keep on smiling. Pups do know how to smile. I do all the time. Is that a flaw in my character? I don't think so.
You haven't caught a RR yet? I know, I know, the ole leash prob. Anyway, the gooder you are, the gooder the treats, right?
Blogging may be nonsense but it sure is fun. The hardest part is getting the key board away from Mommy. She just hawgs it all the time.
Anyhoo, keep up all the good work you do for this crazy world.
High paws and tail wags to ya. Bitsy

      Hey, Bits...

Yeah, those are some zany names, but being a girl called Reggie...I guess I'd better be careful on THAT partik slippery-slope, huh? You know, speaking on that topic, those dwarfs had some pretty insulting names...that Disney...just cruel.

Zippy, btw, is sleeping in Moolie's closet. Yep.

You are so right, Bits, you got to keep smiling. It's just the best thing to do. Bits, it is most-def NOT a character dog-flaw in you for smiling. Keep on dancing, er, smiling and have a WILD WEEKEND.

Hugs and high paws to ya, you crazy kid.
