THIS PUMPKIN IS NO TURKEY

Gretchen, The Pumpkin
Woof, Kids!
I have to tell you that it feels good to be back in the old blogging-saddle. Wait, I can see it now...a movie about dog cowboys...we could call it...Midnight Cowdogs....no, Lonesome Cowdog...well, let's give all that some thought, 'kay?
Here we are, Thanksgiving week. You know what that means, right? Food galore and shopping and football games. Please do tell...how is this really different from any other old weekend? Gaz watches football, Moolie shops and as for the food part...
Mutts and pups, I will TELL you how. Thanksgiving is about special food with special people and special memories. Hey, I know 'cause I listen to commercials. I do get confused though. Is this time about Thanksgiving or Christmas? You can't really tell from the ads...it seems to be all blended together to me.
Through the haze and maze of the advertising insanity, I know Gaz and Moolie will be missing a few very special people hanging out with them, enjoying great food, wine and conversation. One of those people is, The Gretch, The Pumpkin, The Minnesota Kid...Gretchen.
That sweet kid will be in North Carolina doing her fun T-Day-Thang and having all sorts of fun, but she will be missed around the kitchen and table at the B household. Moolie likes to make a MAY-JAH fuss over all this stuffed turkey biz and, well, The Gretch, she just shows such appreciation and knows how to get into the spirit of it all,,,which makes The Mool super happy. Yep, she's no turkey on turkey day, but she remains...The Pumpkin.
Gaz and Moolie have a different sort of day on tap for this year and Moolie doesn't plan to spend the day flinging pans around the kitchen and trussing up and stuffing Tom. Aw.
Hounds, hope you know I don't really care about all this in partik...nah, I don't get to share in all the festivities, so it's all just a big old yawn to me. Well, I would love the people part, with all the petting and attention, oh, that would be great. The food? Turkey is bad for dogs, blah, blah, blah. So, I will be eating my usual, so what's the big deal there?
Gobble, 'er, bark at me.

I was missing all of you guys very much on Thanksgiving, and happy to see that Gaz and Moolie had a great time! Diva, don't feel bad...The Murph didn't get to participate in any Thanksgiving fun either. He was left all alone at home while his parents went out with the soccer team and coaches. Although, he did help himself to 2 pieces of pepperoni pizza the night before Thanksgiving and got in BIG trouble. He tried to be on his best behavior the rest of the weekend. I'd say he had a pretty good Thanksgiving treat, and probably worth it in spite of all of the trouble he got in. Thinking of you and hoping you get lots of great Christmas toys and treats as the shopping season begins! You're on my list!
