REST IN PEACE, BUDDY

I want to dedicate the blog today to our friends in Huntsville, Texas.

During a walk on July 4th, they lost their 14-year-old Border Collie, Buddy, through a senseless and horrifying pit bull attack.  Although my friends were unharmed, one did suffer a bite, the entire situation was tragic and terrifying for them.

Now, they are attempting to convince their city council to pass a dangerous breeds special license law. If anyone can accomplish such an act, it is this couple. I mean one of our friends made a huge civic difference while living in Quechee, Vermont, so I know what he can accomplish. However, it is truly sad that laws have to be created and enforced to make some accept responsibility.

At this point, our friends are quite stressed and down-hearted due to the sudden and violent end to ,what they felt, was one of the sweetest dogs they had ever known. That is a fairly direct quote from them.

So, from Reggie, Moolie and Gaz, we want to say RIP, Buddy. To our friends over there in Huntsville, we send you our thoughts and best wishes in getting that new ordinance passed before there is even more suffering by helpless creatures.
